MRC’s summer camp sessions are designed to inspire and educate our youth about the importance of the Indian River Lagoon. We offer a variety of hands-on activities that allow campers to discover the connection between science and nature in the world around them. Check out the Exploration Schedule below!
Campers should wear closed-toed shoes, a thick layer of sunscreen, and clothes to get dirty in. Please have your camper bring a lunch (except on Friday) and a reusable water bottle.

The Buzz about Bees — Learn about these amazing busy pollinators that support our environment and life in the lagoon.
Terrarium Time — Build your own mini ecosystem by designing a terrarium that you can take home with you!

Mission: Clean Beaches — Learn about marine debris and reducing our impact on the environment by doing our part to clean the beaches!
North Atlantic Right Whale Investigation — With only 420 individuals left in the world, this unique species is critically endangered. Learn how to identify individual right whales and what we can do to help save this species!

What’s Up with the Water? — Learn how to perform scientific water quality tests and why we should care about what’s in our water.
Brevard Zoo Classification Investigation — Discover how to identify animals by observing the characteristics of different species in person!
Sea Turtle Preservation Society — Learn about the different species of turtles that nest in Florida and how we can protect these amazing animals!

Spoil Island Adventure — Get ready for an adventure to the Spoil Islands where we will do field water quality testing, clean up the beach, plant mangroves, and use a seine net along the shoreline for animal investigations!

Florida Wildlife Hospital: All About Owls — Meet some fantastic owl ambassadors and investigate their diets through pellet dissection!
Field Games and Shoreline Scavenger Hunt — Which team can find the list of nature items the fastest?
Pizza Party & Ice Cream Bar — Celebrate a successful week of camp with pizza and ice cream!
Upon completion of registration, a waiver and photo release form will be emailed to you for completion and return prior to the first day of camp. If you have more than one camper, you will need to complete this registration form for each camper.
