Meet the Presenter
Paola Espitia is making media that moves. For two decades, she has worked to understand and conserve coral reef ecosystems as a marine biologist. But when she realized she could make a bigger impact for the ocean through storytelling, she became a Speaker at Sea, cruising over 20,000 nautical miles aboard world-class cruise lines educating thousands of people about ocean conservation. Today, she is a Naturalist aboard National Geographic’s fleet of expedition ships.
Paola also co-leads Ola’pi Creative, a media production studio based on Florida’s Space Coast. As a Media Impact Producer and Strategist, she has skillfully merged the fields of marketing and conservation to help organizations motivate meaningful action through the production of video content and engaging, bilingual communication campaigns. However, her biggest contribution towards a better, bluer future is raising an outdoor-loving son. Paola holds a M.Sc. from the Nova Southeastern University Halmos College of Arts and Sciences and a B.Sc. from the University of Delaware.
MRC’s Lunch & Learn Webinar series is a long-standing and cherished social offered to the East Central Florida coast region, and is supported by volunteers and the community’s charitable giving. If interested and able, we ask participants to donate toward our guest speaker series. All donations are tax-deductible.
