Join us to learn about balancing the demands for water between human needs and natural systems and how the mission of the St. Johns River Water Management District brings those two together! The district works to achieve this through administering permits for consumptive water use, setting Minimum Flow and Levels, and implementing projects focused on improving water quality. Information will be provided at this presentation about the ongoing projects of St. Johns River Water Management District, as well as information on how to decrease your own impact on water quality and quantity!
The event is free, so bring your friends and family! Register today using the button below!
Meet Jennifer Mitchell
Jennifer Mitchell is a Public Communication Coordinator with the St. Johns River Water Management District. She is passionate about Florida’s incredible water resources and hopes to spark your interest in what you can do to help protect Florida’s waterways! After earning her Ph.D. in Forest Ecology from Auburn University, Dr. Mitchell completed a post-doc at the University of Florida in Soil and Water Science. Because she realized that greater results will come from more community participation, Dr. Mitchell now works to spread the message of how individuals can reduce their impact on our waterways.
This Brevard County event is free and open to the public; all attendees must register or RSVP. If interested and able, we ask participants to donate toward our guest speaker series. The MRC Lunch & Learn series is a long-standing and cherished community social that is supported by volunteers and your charitable giving. Attendees are encouraged and welcome to bring and enjoy their lunch during the seminar! For more information on the Marine Resources Council, please visit SaveTheIRL.org.
