Blue World Research Institute (BWRI) is a local non-profit research organization that is focused on technology-based research and conservation solutions. BWRI’s work is international in scope with ecological studies on numerous marine species, but a core research focus is on the entanglement issue with marine species, particularly North Atlantic right whales.
About Our Presenter
Jamison Smith is the Executive Director and Chief Scientist at the Blue World Research Institute (BWRI). His passion for marine conservation can be seen in his more than two and a half decades of experience in global scientific research, conservation, marine policy, education and innovative technologies, including Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) integration. As well as his work with BWRI, Jamison has also been a Research Scientist with Florida Fish and Wildlife Research Institute (FWRI), and the National Entanglement Response Program Coordinator for the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
