July 12 Seminar: Samsons Island

This presentation will review the installation of the Samsons Island Submerged Lands Restoration Project, roles of project partners, lessons learned from Phase 1, and the implementation of Phase 2. See below for video from this event.

Presenter Nick Sanzone will also review adjustments made to the design of the project during applications for Phase 2 permits. Finally, Nick will share the project’s story map, and discuss the roles and importance of project monitoring in the future of Samsons Island.

About Our Presenter

Nicholas Frank Sanzone, born at Holmes Regional Hospital in 1984, a Brevard County native, has devoted his life to stewardship. After graduating from Satellite High School and then the University of Florida in 2010, he returned home to work as an ecotour narrator before working for the Nature Conservancy and the National Parks. In 2013 he returned home and started working for the Marine Resources Council and then the City of Satellite Beach as the Environmental Programs Coordinator, where he now is the project lead on the Samsons Island Submerged Lands Restoration Project.
