Join MRC and Emily Dark at our January 7 Brown Bag Lunch to learn about the The Indian River Lagoon Aquatic Preserves office.

The IRLAP office has been a proud partner with the Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics since 2016. This program focuses to address the many components of sustainable recreation.

IRLAP manages seven aquatic preserves and many spoil islands within the Indian River Lagoon. The application of Leave No Trace practices is vital to helping preserve this incredible ecosystem! Come learn about this program and how you can apply Leave No Trace practices to your every day life!

The event is free, so bring your friends and family!

Emily Dark works for the Department of Environmental Protection’s Indian River Lagoon Aquatic Preserves office in Fort Pierce. She works on a variety of projects such as diamondback terrapin research, microplastics, ecosystem monitoring, species monitoring and the promotion of sustainable recreation.

This Brevard County event is free and open to the public; all attendees have to do is register online. If interested and able, we ask participants to donate $5 toward our guest speaker series. MRC’s Brown Bag Lunch educational series is a long-standing and cherished program offered to the East Central Florida coast region, and is supported by volunteers and the community’s charitable giving. All donations are tax-deductible. Attendees are encouraged and welcome to bring and enjoy their lunch during the seminar!
