An MRC Lunch & Learn Zoom Seminar
October 4, 2022
12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Learn how to inspire youth to care for the environment and connect with nature through the adventures in the Lagoona Lands Series. See below for video from this event.
The Marine Resources Council is pleased to partner with children’s book author Margaret Livermore to host this Lunch & Learn Seminar.
The Presentation Features
- Sparking discussion by combining education with poems and art
- Instilling the values of conservation and restoration.
The Lagoona Lands Series introduces young readers to the Indian River Lagoon and the animals who live there. The Lagoon has suffered from fertilizer runoff and other sources of pollution that effect both the quality of the water and the animals that live in and around the Lagoon. The seeds of conservation and restoration are gently introduced through the adventures in the stories of these amazing animals in this fragile, yet magical habitat.
Perfect for educators, parents, and caretakers alike, learn how to inspire youth to care for the environment and connect with nature.
The seminar will end with a live Q&A session, but we also recommend that participants please email any questions you might have that relate to this topic to caitlin@mrcirl.org.
This is a free event, but you must register to reserve your space at the Lagoon House (subject to cancellation) or to receive the Zoom link. The Zoom link will be in your Eventbrite confirmation email, under “Additional Information.” We will be live streaming the presentation through the MRC’s Facebook page and will be posting the recording to the MRC’s YouTube page for future viewing!
